Brian Sodre

Brian Sodre is a partner in HomeFlow Plumbing LLC and the founder and CEO of Miniopolis, HomeFlow’s sister company and a Florida general contracting and development firm. He brings a builder’s view of construction, permitting and project planning to HomeFlow’s plumbing work across Lee, Charlotte and Collier Counties.

Background

Brian was born in Miami in 1989 and grew up with the values of hard work, family and perseverance that his immigrant parents taught him. Growing up in Miami’s diverse neighborhoods gave him an early drive to build things that matter.

He spent several years in business and finance and later lived in Colorado before coming back to Florida with a clear goal: to improve how the construction industry works and to make housing more accessible.

Why Construction Experience Matters in Plumbing

Plumbing is one of the first trades on a new build and one of the last to finish. The underground drains go in before the slab is poured, the rough-in has to pass inspection before the walls close, and the fixtures go in at the very end. When the plumbing schedule slips, the whole job slips.

Brian’s work as a general contractor and developer means he sees plumbing from the builder’s side: how it fits the schedule, how it gets permitted and inspected, and how it affects the cost of a home. That view shapes how HomeFlow plans new construction plumbing, remodel plumbing and commercial work, where coordination with the rest of the project matters as much as the pipe itself.

Miniopolis and HomeFlow

Miniopolis is a Florida-based general contracting and development firm working with 3D concrete printing, robotics and AI in construction. The company focuses on affordable single-family homes, tiny home communities and government-funded housing projects, with an emphasis on sustainability, automation and workforce training.

Under Brian’s leadership, Miniopolis has grown into a multi-million-dollar company. Its projects range from coastal tiny home developments and planned communities to public-private partnerships that serve teachers, first responders and workforce families, and it has completed multiple government contracts across Southwest Florida.

HomeFlow and Miniopolis are sister companies. When a project needs a general contractor as well as a plumber, such as a full remodel, an addition or a new home, the two can work on it together. Miniopolis holds Florida certified general contractor license CGC1531810.

ApproveAI and Faster Permitting

Permits are part of almost every larger plumbing job, from water heater replacements and repipes to sewer connections and new construction. Waiting on plan review is one of the most common reasons projects stall.

Brian created ApproveAI, an emerging permitting and plan-review platform that uses artificial intelligence to analyze engineering drawings and convert them into structured, permit-ready data. Its goal is to cut permitting timelines by as much as 95% and help builders, engineers and municipalities approve and track development faster.

Workforce Development

Brian puts a lot of time into training the next generation of builders. He mentors people coming into the trades and encourages students to look at construction careers through AI, robotics and sustainable design.

He also created the Future Builders: AI and Robotics in Construction Summit, which brings together engineers, educators, investors and industry leaders to show how new technology can help solve the affordable housing crisis.

Outside of Work

Brian is a husband and a father of three. He enjoys flying, scuba diving, fishing and spending time outdoors.
